Project Overview
Stone and brick masonry shaped around distinctive architecture
Ottawa Masonry Contracting Inc. completed the exterior masonry for this large custom home in Manotick, Ottawa. The work extends across the main façade, rear wings, terrace walls and connected side elevations.
Permacon Lafitt Stone in Oasis gives the residence a textured, cut-stone appearance with soft cream and beige variation. Its modular unit sizes create movement across the broad wall surfaces while remaining balanced around the home's curved windows, arches, columns and changes in elevation.
Permacon Melville Slik Brick in Cameo Beige introduces a smoother contemporary texture on selected sections. Controlled transitions, consistent joints and aligned courses allow the brick and stone to work together as one cohesive exterior.
The Masonry Work
Complex details completed through changing conditions
The project required careful material distribution, accurate work around architectural openings and controlled cold-weather protection during part of the installation.
Stone and Brick Layout
Lafitt stone sizes were distributed to limit repeated joints across the large elevations. Cameo Beige brick was aligned through selected wall sections so both materials maintained clean transitions and a consistent visual rhythm.
Arches and Openings
Shaped units form the entrance arch, while straight vertical edges frame tall doors, curved windows and other openings. Corner pieces carry the masonry naturally around projecting walls and changes in direction.
Winter Protection
Insulated tarps, scaffolding and heated enclosures protected active work zones from snow, wind and low temperatures. Materials and equipment were staged beside the protected walls to maintain an organized workflow.

A cohesive masonry exterior at a residential scale
The completed Custom Home Masonry Manotick project carries a consistent pale masonry finish across the front façade, rear wings, terrace walls and side elevations.
Oasis stone provides depth around the arches, columns, windows and exterior corners, while Cameo Beige brick adds smoother lines on selected areas. Dark windows and roof details create contrast against the warm neutral masonry.
Careful layout and protected winter installation produced an exterior designed to suit both the scale of the home and the seasonal conditions of the Ottawa region.
