This custom home in Vanier, Ottawa uses masonry to give a narrow, multi-storey facade a strong contemporary presence.
Grey stone veneer defines the lower levels and frames the black windows and entrance, while dark brick adds contrast on the upper facade. The two materials create a clear transition between the substantial base and the slimmer upper elevation.
The dedicated photo sequence follows one project only, from the first stone courses around the lower windows through the upper brick installation and completed exterior.

Stone Around Openings
Varied rectangular stone sizes were fitted around the lower black-framed windows while maintaining a coordinated pattern.
Lower Facade Completion
The grey stone masonry was carried across the lower elevation to establish a substantial base for the tall home.

Dark brick was installed from scaffolding around the upper windows, creating contrast with the stone below.
