Newport Grey stone across a complete custom-home exterior
Ottawa Masonry Contracting Inc. completed the exterior stonework for this contemporary custom home in Nepean. The masonry connects the entrance, garage, front façade, side walls and rear outdoor-living area as one coordinated exterior.
Brampton Brick Vivace Stone uses multiple heights and lengths to create natural variation within level courses. Newport Grey combines medium and dark tones that complement the home's black windows, charcoal cladding and broad modern rooflines.
Stone placement was planned around windows, doors, the garage opening, exterior corners and changes in foundation height. Careful unit distribution limited repeated patterns and avoided unnecessary narrow cuts near the most visible edges.

Consistent layout across several connected elevations allowed the stone to follow the home's architecture without visual breaks.
Wall and Course Preparation
The wrapped building envelope, foundation ledges, opening heights and scaffold access were reviewed before installation. Starting elevations were coordinated so courses remained level between connected walls.
Corners and Openings
Balanced unit lengths allowed the stone to wrap naturally around exterior corners. Measured cuts maintained clean vertical edges beside windows, doors and the wide garage opening.
Rear Terrace Continuity
Vivace stone continued beneath tall windows and around the covered terrace. The same joint width, tooling and colour balance connected the rear outdoor area with the front and side elevations.

The completed Newport Grey masonry gives the home a durable, consistent base while allowing the upper charcoal cladding and dark window frames to remain visually distinct.
