This Kanata fireplace project documents Fond du Lac Country Collection stone installed from the prepared wall to the ceiling around a linear firebox and wood mantel. The photographs follow preparation, active placement, joint finishing and the final wall.
Light-toned units of varied lengths were distributed to maintain a horizontal rhythm without repeated joints. Courses were fitted carefully around the firebox, mantel and upper television area.
The completed joints keep the pale palette consistent while preserving the texture and length variation of the stone. The masonry wall is complete in the final photographs.
The Masonry Work

The work sequence moved from wall preparation to full-height stone placement and joint finishing while the firebox, mantel and nearby finishes remained protected.
Wall Preparation
The vertical fireplace wall was prepared before the first stone units established the lower pattern.
Full-Height Placement
Stone placement continued above the wood mantel toward the ceiling while maintaining level courses and balanced lengths.
Joint Finishing
The joints were finished consistently across the full-height stone surface.
