Fond du Lac Country stone carried from the floor to the ceiling
This Orléans fireplace project documents Fond du Lac Country stone installed from the floor to the ceiling around the fireplace and wood mantel. The photographs follow lower placement, work above the mantel and the finished wall.
Light-toned stone units with varied lengths were distributed across the elevation to avoid repeated joints. Courses were fitted carefully around the fireplace opening, mantel and upper mounting area.
The finished joints keep the pale stone palette consistent while preserving the texture and length variation of the individual units. The masonry wall is complete in the final photographs.
The Masonry Work
Full-height Fond du Lac Country stone installation
The work sequence maintained level courses and balanced stone lengths while the fireplace, mantel and nearby finishes remained protected.
Lower Installation
The first courses established the stone pattern and clearances around the fireplace opening.
Above-Mantel Installation
Stone placement continued above the wood mantel toward the ceiling and television mounting area.
Final Joint Finishing
The joints were completed consistently across the full-height stone surface.
