Project Overview
Stone fireplace masonry built to the vaulted ceiling
This Russell interior project features mixed-format stone veneer installed across the full-height fireplace wall. The photographs follow the work from the prepared wall and first lower courses through the front elevation, side returns and completed masonry.
Stone pieces of varied heights, lengths and warm neutral tones were distributed across the wall to create a balanced pattern without repeated vertical joints. The installation was fitted carefully around the linear firebox, mantel zone and central service opening.
The finished masonry follows the peaked ceiling line and creates a continuous focal wall. The surrounding drywall and nearby interior finishes were still in progress when the final photographs were taken.

The sequence moved from wall preparation to lower stone placement, front elevation progress, side returns and final detailing beneath the vaulted ceiling.
Wall Preparation
The full-height fireplace wall was prepared before the first stone courses established the lower pattern.
Stone Placement
Mixed-format veneer was distributed across the front elevation while maintaining balanced lengths, heights and joint spacing.
Returns and Finishing
The side returns and upper courses were completed to follow the shape of the vaulted ceiling.
