Custom Stone Home in Clarence Creek, Clarence-Rockland
Permacon Mondrian Grey Scandinave stone installed across a modern custom residence, documented from foundation support and winter preparation through the completed masonry exterior.
Project Overview
Mondrian stonework built around the home’s foundation and openings
This Clarence-Rockland project follows the masonry installation from a protected winter jobsite to a finished architectural-stone exterior.
Permacon Mondrian stone in the Grey Scandinave finish was installed across the front façade, garage walls, entrance and side elevations. Its long, varied units create strong horizontal lines beside the black-framed windows, dark cladding and defined rooflines.
Several wall sections included an added masonry bearing line as part of the installation layout. Steel angles were levelled and mechanically anchored to the foundation before the first stone courses advanced. Flashing, membrane transitions and wall preparation were coordinated at the same stage so the visible masonry could begin on a clean, supported base.
Course heights, corners and cuts were then carried through changing wall sections and around windows and doors. The result is a continuous grey-stone base that reads consistently across the separate elevations while preserving the natural colour variation of the material.
The Masonry Work
Support, aligned coursing and precise transitions
The installation sequence protected the support conditions first, then maintained consistent stone lines through openings, corners and changes in elevation.
Foundation Support
Mechanically anchored steel angles created a stable and level bearing surface where the masonry layout required an added bearing line.
Horizontal Coursing
Regular layout and level checks kept the slender Mondrian units aligned across long walls and separate elevations.
Openings and Corners
Returns, cuts and corner pieces were coordinated around windows, entrances and direction changes for a continuous exterior.

The Finished Project
A continuous grey-stone base with modern contrast
The completed masonry exterior combines cool Grey Scandinave masonry with dark cladding, black-framed windows and clean roof lines. Balanced stone distribution and consistent horizontal courses give the separate walls one coordinated architectural finish.
