Arriscraft Stone Repointing in Manotick

Localized mortar-joint repair around window and garage-opening areas, documented from cracking and selective removal to fresh repointing.

Project Overview

Localized Arriscraft joint repairs around exterior openings

Ottawa Masonry Contracting Inc. performed localized mortar-joint repairs on an Arriscraft masonry façade in Manotick. The supplied photographs document cracked and open joints around a window and above a garage opening.

The sequence includes the existing damage, selective mortar removal and freshly repointed areas. It ends before the new mortar has fully cured and reached its final colour.

The Masonry Work

Selective mortar removal and targeted repointing

The affected mortar was selectively removed to make space for sound replacement material. New mortar was then placed and tooled within the localized repair areas while preserving the surrounding Arriscraft units.

01

Cracked-joint assessment

Close and wider views documented the open and separated joints before the repair.

02

Selective mortar removal

Deteriorated mortar was removed from the affected joints rather than disturbing the full wall surface.

03

Fresh repointing

New mortar restored the joint pattern around the affected window and garage-opening areas.

Freshly repointed stage

Joint continuity restored around the affected opening

The latest photographs show the repaired joint pattern restored around the window and garage-opening areas.

The new mortar remains visibly fresh and darker in places. Because the archive ends before full curing, the final cured mortar colour is not claimed.
