Project Overview
Renewed mortar joints and selective replacement of damaged units
This Merrickville restoration addressed weathered mortar joints and localized deterioration in a rock-face masonry wall. The objective was to improve durability while preserving the wall’s established texture and character.
Deteriorated mortar was removed to a suitable depth before new mortar was placed and tooled. Damaged units were replaced selectively so sound original masonry could remain in service.
The before-and-after photographs show a visibly cleaner joint pattern and a more coherent wall surface after the restoration work.
