Project Overview
Two complementary masonry products on one modern façade
Ottawa Masonry Contracting Inc. completed the exterior masonry for this modern home in South Keys, Ottawa. The installation connects the front façade, upper walls, garage openings, entrance, windows, exterior corners and selected side elevations.
Permacon Cinco Plus Stone in Range Newport Grey provides the textured accent around the entrance and selected feature walls. Its varied lengths add movement while maintaining consistent courses.
Brampton Brick Finesse Stone in Iceland White creates the brighter architectural surfaces. Large 12×24 units emphasize the home's horizontal lines around windows, garages and upper walls.
The Masonry Work
Dual-material alignment, precise details and protected access
Coordinating different unit sizes and textures required careful layout around openings, corners and long horizontal wall sections.
Two-Material Layout
Unit heights, joint positions and transition points were planned before installation so the textured grey stone and large white units would read as one coordinated exterior.
Openings and Corners
Measured cuts and controlled joints carried the masonry around garage doors, upper windows, the entrance and exterior corners. Straight edges preserved the clean geometry of the façade.
Scaffolded Work Areas
Scaffolding provided access to the upper walls while signs, caution tape and temporary barriers defined protected routes below the active work zone. Materials remained organized near the covered porch and front elevation.

A modern exterior defined by contrast and clean alignment
The completed masonry uses Iceland White to brighten the broad wall surfaces and Newport Grey to add depth around the entrance and selected features. Each product remains distinct without making the exterior feel divided.
Level courses, consistent joints and accurate cuts carry both materials around garage openings, windows and corners. The large white units reinforce the home's geometry while the textured grey stone introduces natural variation.
