Natural stone retaining wall built along the sidewalk
This Orléans project features a long, low retaining wall built with irregular natural stone along the edge of a residential property. The photographs follow the work from a prepared linear base and sorted stone to wall construction, capstone alignment and final mortar work.
Individual stones were selected and fitted to establish a continuous wall face, consistent height and steady alignment beside the hedge and walkway. Larger, flatter units were placed along the top to form the cap.
The completed wall defines the planting edge while preserving the natural variation in the stone. The final photograph shows the full masonry scope along the property frontage.

Base and Stone Layout
A linear base was prepared and natural stone was sorted beside the work area before construction.
Wall Construction

Flatter top stones were aligned before mortar and joints were completed along the wall.
