CMU Wall and Opening Infill at Dr. F.J. McDonald Catholic School

CMU infill is documented at multiple existing interior openings; one full-height infill is shown while a separate wide opening remains in progress.

Project Overview

CMU infill across documented school wall openings

Ottawa Masonry completed institutional masonry work inside Dr. F.J. McDonald Catholic School in Ottawa. The supplied photographs show existing interior openings prepared for new concrete masonry unit infill and the blockwork advancing in more than one location.

One former door opening is documented with full-height CMU infill in place. A separate wider opening is shown during construction. The images do not show the later painting, trim or architectural finishing performed after the masonry stage.

The Masonry Work

Preparing and rebuilding the openings with CMU

Interior school renovations require new blockwork to fit existing openings while work areas and nearby services remain organized.

01

Opening Preparation

Existing materials were removed from the affected openings so the new infill could connect to the retained interior walls and floor conditions.

02

CMU Installation

Concrete masonry units were laid in level courses within the existing frames. The photographs document both the first courses and the wall rising toward the top of an opening.

03

Multiple Interior Locations

The selected images distinguish a full-height former door opening from a separate, wider opening shown during construction.

The Documented Result

Verified CMU Infill at a Former Door Opening

The photo record verifies full-height CMU infill at one former door opening. Paint and finish work are not shown, and the separate wide opening remains documented below its final height.
